With her father serving as an administrator and governor in Micronesia, Miriam began her life immersed in the graciousness and sensory beauty of the Pacific Islands. She studied art and design at several prestigous California and Texas colleges, and managed her husband’s design firm for more than 20 years. She brings her design experience and interest in fashion design to a lifelong passion to create her own clothing line.

On her wedding day, Miriam wore her own creation: “I couldn’t find the perfect dress, and so I made my own.” It didn’t even occur to her that this could be a disaster all on its own. Miriam says, “I celebrate the glamour of women. I elevate the feminine; it is my joy to add sophisticated softness to the lives of my clients."

Miriam incorporates a spectrum of colors and prints in silk and other natural based fibers. She insists on using local contractors in the Los Angeles garment district to produce high quality products. The Miriam J office on West 9th street is central to the activities involved in producing a dynamic clothing line.

Miriam feels that “Design influences our emotional as well as our physical world. It coaxes us to interact with our environment, and it persuades us to engage in daily living as we aspire for balance and harmony.”
